Vacation Bible School

This past week was VBS! Ana did great and REALLY enjoyed herself! Just tonight I heard her singing in the shower one of their VBS songs and my heart just melted. NOTHING is sweeter than her precious voice singing about Jesus!!

This is Tyler. One of her buds from Korea! His family just moved here last month and she was so glad to see him in her class! We will all be here in the same squadron for at least three years!

I enrolled her in the VBS on base because THIS was the church we got married in and I thought it would be fun for her to have some "chapel one" memories too!

5 July- Our 11th Anniversary!

Last weekend (12 July) we got to celebrate our anniversary in Austin! My aunt and uncle live there and they offered to watch Ana for the night so we took them up on it! We had a blast and Ana did too!

It was the second time I've ever left Ana and both times have been with Brenda and Lloyd. They are awesome with her and she loves being with them.

We left Ana around 11ish Sat. and did a tour of the Capital and the grounds. BEAUTIFUL! We checked into our Bed and Breakfast downtown and just relaxed. There were cookies and ice cream for us and I couldn't have been happier! :) Got dressed up. Had a YUMMY dinner downtown and then went to a piano bar and had the MOST fun singing ALL NIGHT LONG! Taxied it home and slept in! Had a great breakfast that Phoebe the B&B owner made. Went BACK TO BED then got up by 11:30 to check out by noon! IT was a perfect day with the perfect man!

Playing Outside is her FAVORITE time!

Ana has always LOVED playing outside. Since we moved here she will go outside every afternoon and not come in for hours. She will play with the sticks, leaves, and bring me bugs. (Which is SO thoughtful!) With us having a big backyard we thought is was time to start getting her some fun toys!

This tire swing horse is a FUN time! She picked the "red one" and I couldn't resist! How can you live in TX and not have a horse? :)

We've had this play system for about a month now and she STILL loves it! It's great for when her friends are over too. NEVER gets old!

Pooks even likes it! She was seriously thinking about how to get down that slide...it was so funny!

With Ana climbing everything she can...we got the rock wall for her! RIGHT up her alley!

But EVERY monkey needs monkey bars and THIS is what she does everyday. Gets up there (by herself) and just hangs! I check out the windows on her and she is always so careful and tries new stuff all the time. So far we haven't had any trips to the emergency room yet!

This move always makes Marc nervous. The "walk/crawl" across the top and climb OVER the top into the platform. BUT, it's her outlet. The only thing she still gets in trouble for at "camp" or VBS or ANY other activities she is apart of is the fact that she's a climber I feel like she just NEEDS to climb...it's who she is! Now we just tell her "no climbing inside and you can always climb on your playground when you get home" and that has made ALL our activities much better! :) FUN!

Proud to be an American!

The year we adopted Ana we decided to have a 4th of July party because that year was just an extra special year of being SO proud to be an American after everything we ALL went through. We missed having our party last year in Korea so we did it again this year and I think we might just have to do it every year from here on out! :)

Then off to the base for fireworks and pony rides! The fireworks were awesome this year too!

The next morning we drove out to my aunt and uncles lake house which is about an hour away. My family had gone out for the day and it was a blast, not to mention relaxing and beautiful! Their house is right on the lake and we all took turns with the boat and jet ski...

All Ana wanted to do was jump off the boat and dock all day! That night they had an amazing fireworks show right there and then my cousins had the "finale"...TOO FUN!

Camp!

I signed Ana up for THREE weeks of camp throughout the summer. Last week was her first week, "Celebrating Freedom". SHE LOVED IT! It was all day long and I was really worried about her. But when I picked her up after the first day, she was happy and the teachers said she was "sweet"! TOTAL break through for us because Ana has a history of "testing" teachers for the first week or two of anything she begins and since this was only a week long, I was worried! I was SO proud of her and how well she did!

My friend, Angela, (our families go way back to Alaska days together!!) also took her kids to this camp and she and I would have some time chitty chatting over chai's...then I'd meet Marc for lunch and it was weird without Ana! Then it was time for me to get those long overdue appointments taken care of ie the dentist...UGH!

This is Claire, one of Angela's daughters and she was in Ana's class. They are too cute together! In two weeks we will start "Wild Wild West" week! Yeehaw!

McKee Visit

McKee's were our downstairs neighbors in KOREA days! They were in town for one week. Mike had training here and it was SOOO good to see them so soon after leaving Korea.

The McKee's were staying at the base while the Boomershine's were in our guest room! We all meet for lunch down on the river.

The day the Boomershine's were suppose to leave the McKee's moved in and THEN the Boomershine's plane was cancelled so we had a house full! The kids all got along great and the adults played games into the wee hours!
